Hearts of Hope Newtown held an event last night to paint for Newtown Teachers. Being a retired teacher, I decided this was an event I could not miss. I thought I might get some guff from my husband about heading out after dinner, but once he found out it was at a new brewery, as long as I promised to bring him back "something", he was fine with my little outing. Who knew that's all it would take, a goodie bag from my adventures, 😂.
There was a special presentation of a heart to Janet, who is a school bus driver. That is one job you could not pay me a million dollars to do. I give her all the credit in the world to take on that task. Bus Drivers are definitely unsung heroes in my book!
The Newtown Bee was there interviewing people and taking some photos.
Bria is the high school student who painted last year's Newtown Specialty ornament and she is painting this year's ornament too! She has even offered to do one for us! She is an amazingly talented young woman. It runs in her family.
