February 11, 2020 Random Acts of Kindness Event

Tonight is our Random Acts of Kindness Event. This is one of my favorite events of our year. This is the one time a year when we invite our participants to take their hearts home and give them out themselves on Random Act of Kindness Day, which is February 17th.  It is a popular event for us, as it gives everyone a chance to be the deliverer of Hope and/or Thanks, which is what this program is all about. If our painters did not want to deliver their heart themselves, we offered to deliver them to the Sterling House Food Pantry for them, so that people who are receiving food assistance can receive a heart.

We now have our events in the dining room of the Riverview Bistro, and  not in the large back room. I personally enjoy being in the dining room.  Smaller tables allow conversations to flow easier when people who don't know each other sit together. And each month, the arrangements of the tables if different. This gives our seasoned painters a real chance to mingle with the newcomers to our events, and last night we had a wonderful group of  people and a new and unique arrangement of tables!

Our necklaces and specialty ornaments are always available at our monthly events. If you want one (or ten) and can't make it to an event, message me on facebook and I will find a way to get you what you need. If you don't live in the area, you can purchase them in the shop on the Hearts of Hope website at www.ourheartsofhope.org

This week we only have Miss Lucy, Miss Lily wanted to watch her dad play in his volleyball match. She loves learning all about the sport, but she watching her daddy even more! We certainly did miss her smile, but we totally understand!

Painting takes total concentration!

It is nearly impossible to get everyone to look at you when taking a family photo.

We miss you,Caroline. When you come back from Florida, bring some sunshine and warmth with you!

The internet is a great help in finding fabulous ideas
for our hearts!

I can never get the paint to stay out of our logo like that...

She is one amazing artist!

Since almost everyone is taking their hearts with  them, I need to try to get photos of them before they disappear!

 I absolutely LOVE this heart!

Join us next month when we will be painting for the volunteers who run the support groups at Adam's House as well as the families who attend the grief support programs at Adam's House. To learn more about Adam's House and it's programs, please follow this link.
